Frozen Buns Run 2027
Western Arkansas Runners hosts the Frozen Buns Run on New Years Day 2027 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, at 7000 Taylor Avenue, Suite 1. The event continues a tradition that began 11 years earlier after a frigid winter led to canceled races.
The event features a single distance: 5K (3.1 miles). Open registration runs from August 1, 2026 through September 2, 2026. The registration fee is $20.00. All participants receive a finisher award, and registrants who sign up by December 13 will receive a T-shirt.
After the run there will be awards, hot chocolate, varieties of chili, and other food items. Participants are invited to bring spirits to share with fellow runners, friends, and family. Volunteer opportunities are available and can be selected during registration.
Organizers note provisions for cold weather: a fire pit outdoors and indoor space for warming. Early packet pickup is available on December 31 at the WAR building, 7020 Taylor Avenue, and packet pickup is also available on the day of the event at the venue.
