Frontline OCR
Frontline OCR is an obstacle course event at Byron Motosports Park in Byron, Illinois on May 22, 2027. The event is produced by the Frontline OCR Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and was created to honor military personnel, veterans, and first responders by presenting an obstacle course that reflects physical and mental demands faced in the line of duty.
The event offers multiple divisions and wave types, including competitive and non-competitive options. Key features described by the organizer include:
- 10K about 6.2 miles with 30+ obstacles.
- 5K roughly 3+ miles with 20+ obstacles.
- Ruck division 6.2 miles with required personal ruck and carried weight.
- Kid's Course 1 mile for ages 5 to 13.
Selected division rules and notes from the organizer: the Special Forces 10K Elite requires mandatory obstacle completion while wearing body armor for podium eligibility; competitors receive unlimited obstacle attempts and must surrender the vest if they give up on an obstacle. The Endurance class requires mandatory obstacle completion through a minimum of two 10K laps for podium eligibility. The Ruck division requires participants to bring their own ruck and recommended weights (30 lb for men, 20 lb for women); carries and crawls are completed while wearing the ruck and finishing with a weighted ruck earns a Ruck Division patch plus finisher medal and shirt. Heroes waves are reserved for first responders, active military, veterans, retirees, and qualifying spouses; verification may be requested and podium positions may be reassigned to qualified participants.
