The course is hilly, with approximately 1,550 feet of elevation gain per six mile loop; the 50K accumulates several thousand feet of climbing. Trails include rocky sections and dirt single track, and historic average temperatures for the event period are roughly 48 to 76 degrees Fahrenheit. Competitors are advised to use the special event entrance rather than the main park entrance.
Ruck entrants must meet minimum pack weights: 20 pounds for participants who weigh 150 pounds or less, and 30 pounds for those who weigh 150 pounds or more. All distances receive a tri blend event shirt and a finisher medal, and first place awards are given for male and female in each distance. Additional items include a 10K ruck patch and a last place award for the 50K.
The event provides aid station food and hydration, course marking and support, on course photography, and volunteer staff. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
