Frightwood 5K
The Frightwood 5K is scheduled for October 24, 2026 in Wrightwood, California. The event includes multiple family oriented running opportunities and awards at the finish.
Event offerings include races for different ages and group formats:
- 5K Frightwood 5K for all ages
- 5K Team of 4 team competition
- Mini Monster Mile for ages 10 and younger
- Drac Dash for ages 4 and younger
The course runs on paved roads through the Wrightwood community and includes hilly sections. The course is stroller friendly but runners are advised to account for hills. Friendly costumed volunteers and characters appear on the 5K course; haunts are not positioned along the Mini Monster or Drac Dash children's courses.
Participants receive event shirts and there are photo opportunities, a safety team, and event volunteers on site. Awards are presented for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, with overall male and female winners and age group awards that start at 5-10 and extend to over 60. There are also male, female, and coed team awards for the 5K Teams of 4.
Proceeds from the event are donated to Wrightwood CERT, the Serrano High School Drama Department, and the Wrightwood Elementary School Raccoon Running Club.
