Friday the 13K - Las Vegas
Friday the 13K - Las Vegas is an evening running event held at Mountain Edge Regional Park. The race takes place under the evening sky as the desert air cools, featuring a flat course profile. Participants can choose between several onsite and remote distances:
- 13K (double loop out-and-back)
- 6.5K (single out-and-back)
- Virtual 13K (remote participation)
The event utilizes chip timing for all onsite participants at both the start and finish lines. Due to the evening timing of the race, the use of a headlamp or personal light is recommended for all runners. Water stations are positioned along the route approximately every 1.5 miles.
All participants receive a custom finisher medal upon completing their distance. Awards are presented to the top three men and women overall, as well as the top three finishers in various age groups ranging from 10 and under to 75 and older. Specialized categories include Masters (40+), Grand Master (50+), and Senior Master (60+).
The event serves as a fundraiser for its charity partner, Ava’s Avengers. This organization focuses on building support networks to assist families with the socioeconomic burdens of disease and education. Registrants also receive a free entry into a future 2025 Five Star Thanksgiving Turkey Trot, and top finishers may qualify for a championship event in early 2026.
