Freedom Celebration 5K Race and Youth Run
The event includes a 1K youth run, a 5K run, and a 5K walk on Kirby Avenue in Champaign, Illinois. Distances:

- 5K Walk
The 5K course starts and finishes on Kirby Ave between the State Farm Center and Memorial Stadium. The route goes east on Kirby/Florida, north on Lincoln, and returns to the finish line. The Youth Run course is along Kirby Ave. There will be two water stations on the course. All proceeds support the Champaign County Freedom Celebration.
Registration opens April 1. There is a price increase on June 25. To order a race shirt an entrant must register by June 22 and pay an additional fee; shirts will not be available on race day. Registration is accepted online only, there is no paper sign-up, and no cash or checks are accepted.
Packet pick-up is at Body 'n Sole Sports, 1317 N Dunlap, Savoy, IL, on Friday July 3 from 12:00 to 18:00. Race-day packet pick-up is available from 7:15 to 8:45. Registration via the event page ends promptly at 8:45 on July 4.
Awards are given to overall male and female winners, the top three male and female finishers in these age groups 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over, and the top five walkers. An award recipient or a designated friend must be present to receive the award; awards will not be mailed or delivered.
Race day parking is on the east side of the State Farm Center in lots E5 and F5, with entry and exit from Forth St. For the Youth Run an adult may run with each youth and the adult does not have to register; the Youth Run is a fun run with no bibs and no packet pick-up required.
