VCG - Freedom 5K (Friendswood)
VCG - Freedom 5K in Friendswood, Texas is the inaugural Veterans Weekend community run organized by Veteran College Grants, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides educational grants and scholarships to veterans, spouses, and children. The event is scheduled for November 7, 2026 at Stevenson Park (White Gazebo), 910 S. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546.
The course starts and finishes near the gazebo and follows a scenic route through Old Town Friendswood beneath mature oak trees. The event is stroller friendly, pet friendly, and walker friendly, and it coincides with a farmers market at Stevenson Park on the same day.
Registration opens May 27, 2026 and closes November 6, 2026. Standard registration for adults is $35 and special pricing for participants under twelve is $20. Early check-in is available on Thursday, November 5. Parking is available at Friendswood City Hall and the Stevenson Park swimming pool area.
The race will be chip timed by Run Houston Timing and will feature a professional inflatable start and finish arch plus a digital race clock. Official results will be posted online. Participants receive a custom finisher medal, an official race bib, and an ultra soft performance event shirt with the first 300 registered participants guaranteed their selected size.
