VCG - Freedom 5K (Friendswood)
The VCG Freedom 5K takes place on November 7, 2026, in Stevenson Park (White Gazebo), Friendswood, Texas. The park address is 910 S. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546.
The event raises funds for Veteran College Grants, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides educational grants and scholarships to veterans, spouses, and children. It is presented as a family-oriented Veterans Weekend event held on the Saturday before Veterans Day.
The course begins and ends near the park gazebo and follows a scenic route through Old Town Friendswood beneath the city oak trees. Additional parking is available at Friendswood City Hall and the Stevenson Park swimming pool area. A farmers market is scheduled in Stevenson Park on the same day after the event.
The race will be professionally chip timed by Run Houston Timing and will feature an inflatable start and finish arch and a digital race clock. Official results are posted online. Awards are presented in six categories: top female youth 17 and under, top male youth 17 and under, top female masters 40 plus, top male masters 40 plus, overall female champion, and overall male champion.
Participant items and on-site activities include a custom finisher medal, official race bib, an ultra soft performance event shirt with size guarantees for the first 300 registrants, a coffee station, face painting, community vendor canopies, and music with a DJ.
