VCG Freedom 5K / 1K (Friendswood)
VCG Freedom is a Veterans Weekend running event held in Stevenson Park near the white gazebo in Friendswood, Texas. The event supports Veteran College Grants, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides educational grants and scholarships to veterans, spouses, and children.

The in-person course starts and finishes near the gazebo and includes a scenic route through Old Town Friendswood with notable oak trees. Additional parking is available at Friendswood City Hall and the Stevenson Park pool area. A farmers market is scheduled in the park the same day.
The event is professionally chip timed by Run Houston Timing and official results are posted online. Participants receive a custom finisher medal, official race bib, and an ultra soft performance event shirt with size guaranteed for the first 300 registered participants. Awards are given across age and gender categories including youth and masters divisions and overall champions.
Family amenities and activities include a coffee station, a vendor area, face painting, a professional DJ and announcer, free pizza slices for participants, and a brewery sponsor presence.
