Fred Torres Memorial 5K
The Fred Torres Memorial 5K is an annual event held at Garrett Mountain in Woodland Park, NJ, that raises funds for the Fred Torres Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is awarded to Clifton High School cross country and track and field athletes who have shown leadership, perseverance, and solid academic standing during their four years and who plan to continue in their chosen collegiate programs. The fund also supports other educational and sports related programs.
The event features multiple participation options on a championship cross country course and includes post race activities at Danaher's Pub in Fairfield, NJ. T-shirts are guaranteed to registered runners. Awards are given for overall top finishers, top Clifton High School alumni in cross country and track and field, and top age group finishers.
