Franklin G. Schaeffer Memorial 5K Run & Walk 2026
The event is a 5K run and walk held on 10/17/2026 at Wakefield Valley Park Trail in Westminster, MD (739 Tahoma Farm Rd., 21158). The course follows paved trail sections and includes some parts where vehicle traffic is present. The 2026 edition uses a new location within the park.
Registration is paid and has a set fee of $25.00. Online registration opens 7/31/2026 at 06:00 and closes 10/16/2026 at 11:59. Registrants through 10/4/26 at 11:59pm will receive a shirt that includes 6th. Annual and the race date. Registrants from 10/6/26 at 12:00am up to the 10/16/26 cutoff may receive a shirt without 6th. Annual and the race date or an item from previous years if available; shirt size is not guaranteed.
Walk up registration is available on the morning of the event between 7:30 and 8:30. Walk ups must pay by cash exact amount only or by check and will not receive a shirt. Parking is available in a small lot just past the ballfield on the left, at the intersection of North Burning Tree Dr. and Tahoma Farm Rd. The start location is on Tahoma Farm Rd. at Ryder Ct., approximately 900' past the entrance to the parking lot. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
