Frankie's Vertical Backyard Ultra
The event takes place at 220 Angus Archie Rd, Mabou, Nova Scotia. It is a "vertical" backyard ultra run on an approximately 4 km loop with 370 m of ascent per loop. Standard backyard ultra rules apply and each participant has one hour to complete the loop.
Free camping is available at the start and finish for runners and crew. Water and Tailwind are provided throughout the event.
Ten dollars from every registration fee will be donated to the Mabou food bank. The listed registration fee is CA$94.04 and includes race swag and insurance as well as the ten dollar donation. The prize amounts listed are CA$750 for the winner and CA$250 for the assist.
Repeated loops accumulate significant vertical gain; after multiple loops the total ascent exceeds the high points of several provinces and, after 17 loops, surpasses the elevation of Mt. Logan. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
