Franciscan Charities 5K Run & Walk
Franciscan Charities will hold its first 5K Run & Walk fundraiser on September 12, 2026, at the South Mountain Recreation Complex (South Mountain Reservation) in West Orange, New Jersey. The event includes a 5K run and a walk and is organized to raise funds in support of Franciscan Charities and the neighbors it serves.
Event registration is listed at $30, with a reduced student fee of $15. Onsite registration will be located in the pavilion. Participation, sponsorships, and donations for the event contribute to the organization’s ongoing programs addressing poverty, homelessness, and food insecurity in Newark.
Since 2004, Franciscan Charities has provided 2 million meals. In the past year, distributions included 140,000 meals, 175,000 diapers, 2,000 coats and hats, and 1,600 Christmas toys for children and families.
