The Foundation for Blind Children Stride For Sight 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk is a fundraising event supporting the Foundation for Blind Children. It features a timed 5K and a relaxed 1-mile walk/run. A unique component is the "Blindfold Challenge," where participants can form two-person teams to run the 5K blindfolded with a sighted guide, using provided blindfolds and tethers.

Registration and Fees
Registration is available for three categories: the 5K, the 1 Mile Walk, and a "Sleep-in for Sight" virtual option where a race shirt is mailed. Standard fees for the 5K and 1 Mile range from approximately $33 to $39, with race day registration priced at $40 for each. The "Sleep-in for Sight" option is approximately $28.
Event Features
All in-person participants receive a custom finisher's medal and a dri-fit tech T-shirt, with an option to decline the shirt for a $5 discount. The event offers chip timing, real-time results, and photos. There is a pre- and post-race "Runner's Brunch" with snacks and drinks. Age group awards are given for the top three male and female finishers in the 5K across several categories.
Participant Information
The event welcomes wheelchairs, strollers, wagons, and leashed pets. Roller blades, skates, bicycles, skateboards, and motorized devices are not allowed on the course. Race day registration and packet pickup begin at 7:00 AM at the venue. Packet pickup is also available the day before at Sole Sports in Scottsdale. The event is managed by StartLine Racing.
