Foundation for Blind Children Stride For Sight 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk
This event takes place in Scottsdale at the Arizona Boardwalk on February 27, 2027. It includes both a chip timed 5K and a relaxed 1 mile walk, and proceeds support the programs of the Foundation for Blind Children.

The event features a Blindfold Challenge in which two-person teams can run the 5K with one teammate blindfolded and the other serving as a sighted guide. Blindfolds and tethers are provided, each teammate must register separately, and teams may trade roles during the course.
Participants who attend on race day receive a custom finisher medal and a Dri Fit tech shirt, with an option to decline the shirt for a partial refund. Male and female age group awards are given to the top three in each category for the 5K; age groups include 10 and under, 11 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. Results are chip timed with real time results and photos available online and via a mobile app.
Packet pickup is available the day before at Sole Sports in Scottsdale and at the race location on race day. The event welcomes wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons, prohibits roller blades bicycles skateboards and motorized devices on the course, and allows leashed pets. There is no bag check and the event runs rain or shine. Fundraising is part of the event with a listed goal of $25,000. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
