Dirty Spokes Fort Yargo Cannonball Run
The Dirty Spokes Fort Yargo Cannonball Run is a trail running event on December 5, 2026, at Fort Yargo State Park, Winder, Georgia (Entrance B). The event is presented by Chateau Elan and is part of the Dirty Spokes Off The Grid Trail Run Series. Two course options are offered:
- 8.50 miles - trail measured at 8.33 miles by GPS, 8.50 miles by calibrated bicycle wheel.
- 3.10 miles - trail measured at 2.94 miles by GPS, 3.10 miles by calibrated bicycle wheel.
Online registration is available. Entry fees vary by date: 8.75-mile entries are $45 through November 22, $50 November 23 to December 3, and $55 on race day; 3.10-mile entries are $40 through November 22, $45 November 23 to December 3, and $50 on race day. Shirts will be tri-blend, with no guarantee for late or race day registrants.
Course, logistics and awards
Both races start near the lower parking lot at Entrance B and proceed along powerlines into the woods, staying together until the 0.25 mile mark. The 8.50-mile course turns left after the bridge and is run counter clockwise; the 3.10-mile course turns right after the bridge and is run clockwise. Trail surfaces include both smooth sections and more technical stretches with rocks and roots; the 3.10-mile course is described as having minimal roots and rocks.
Packet pickup occurs on the morning of the race. Medals and prizes are awarded to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top three in each age group. Age groups: 14&U, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75&U. Medals will not be mailed; recipients must be present to receive them.
