Forkland Festival Fox and Hound 4k
The Forkland Festival Fox and Hound 4k is a trail race located in Gravel Switch, Kentucky. The course takes participants through the hills, knobs, and countryside of the Forkland Community. The route features a variety of terrain beginning with a quarter-mile uphill section, followed by passages through open meadows and woodland trails. The race concludes with a downhill segment leading to the finish line.
Participants have the option to complete the course as a run or a walk. Because of the elevation changes and terrain, the physical effort required for this 4k course is often compared to that of a 5k on level ground. Registration for the event includes a T-shirt and a ticket to the Forkland Festival pancake breakfast.
Handmade awards are presented during the breakfast held in the shelter behind the Community Center. Categorical awards include a group for participants aged 70 and older. The event is held in conjunction with the Forkland Festival and Heritage Revue, which features local crafts and music throughout the day.
