Forest Run Fest : Course information
Forest Run Fest takes place in Bottle Lake Forest near Christchurch and offers multiple course options on forest trails, gravel roads and open grass sections. The event includes aid stations with water and snacks on the longer course and uses marshals on trail exits to direct participants.
Walkers and runners are both welcome. The available distances are:
- 21 km half marathon with two laps and shared-use paths
- 10 km course mixing gravel roads and compact forest trails
- 5.5 km shorter course with forest trails and gravel sections
- 2 km kids course for children aged 10 and under
The 21 km course has a logistics cutoff: to be eligible for a medal and to appear in the results, participants must pass the 10 km drink station within two hours of the start and finish the event within four hours of the start. The 21 km route includes two aid stations, sections under tree canopy, and points where the route crosses tracks used by mountain bikers.
Course descriptions note varied surfaces and some open grass sections. Marshals and aid stations are positioned to support navigation and refuelling during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
