Forest of Dean Spring Half Marathon

The event takes place on Sunday 22 March 2026 in the Forest of Dean. It is organised by the Rotary Club of the Royal Forest of Dean and supported by the Forestry Commission. Proceeds are donated to local and national charities. The race starts and finishes at the Speech House Hotel and follows a clockwise loop of well‑maintained forest trails. The officially measured distance is half‑marathon (13 miles 192.5 yards). The multi‑terrain route is way‑marked with yellow paint, marshalled, and has mile‑markers. The course generally uses well‑maintained tracks with gentle inclines. Lead cyclists will guide the field and roads will be closed where runners need to cross.

Entry, timing and services

Entrants must be 17 years or older on race day. Entry fees for registrants received by the main closing date are: UKA‑affiliated club members £32 and non‑affiliated runners £34; the fee includes a non‑refundable £5 processing charge. Manual entries incur an additional £3. Entries received by the main closing date receive personalised race bibs and timing chips; later online entries may be accepted at a higher fee and receive a generic bib. There are strictly no entries on the day.

Timing for results is by gun timing with personal times confirmed by chip timing. Race bibs with integrated chips are issued on the day from a tent close to the start area. There are three water stations at about 5 km intervals and drinks at the finish. Medical cover will be provided by Acute Medics Ltd with mobile units and recovery vehicles. The race has age‑group categories for men and women from 17 up to 80+, trophies for many category winners, and Top 50 t‑shirts for the first 50 men and first 50 women. The event is a British Trail Running Championships short distance race and an England Athletics Age Group Masters qualifier; advance registration is required for Age Group Masters eligibility.
