Forest of Dean Autumn Half Marathon
The Forest of Dean Autumn Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday 27 September 2026. The event is organised by The Rotary Club of the Royal Forest of Dean with support from the Forestry Commission. Proceeds are donated to charities. The race starts and finishes at Speech House and uses a forest trails course with no road crossings. The officially measured distance is 13 miles 192.5 yards.
The route is multi-terrain, way-marked, signed and marshalled, and marked by yellow paint on the ground. Mile-markers are provided and the course uses well-maintained tracks with some hillier sections and short gravel parts. The race will be led by lead cyclists. Water stations are provided at approximately 5 km intervals and drinks are available at the finish. Road running shoes or trainers are acceptable; spikes should not be worn.
Race services, categories and safety
Entrants must be 17 years or older on race day. Entry fees are listed for UKA-affiliated and non-affiliated runners, with specified processing fees and a final registration deadline of 13 September 2026; some late online entries may be available at a higher fee. Race bibs include integrated timing chips issued on the day. Under UKA rules, results are determined by gun timing and supplemented by chip timing. Every finisher receives a medal; trophies are awarded to category winners across male and female age bands from 17–34 up to 80+. Medical cover and radio communications will be in place, with medical teams and mobile units positioned near the finish and at key points on the route.
