5K For the Children
The 5K For the Children is a community running event held at Pleasant Street Beach in West Harwich, Massachusetts (1 Sea Way, West Harwich, MA 02671). The event benefits Shriners Children's and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and offers both an in-person 5K and a Virtual 5K option.
The in-person race uses a new, scenic route with views of Nantucket Sound from the Pleasant Street Beach location. An after party and awards ceremony are scheduled at the Pleasant Street Beach parking lot. Registered runners and walkers may receive up to two free beers at the parking lot after the race. Red River BBQ is listed as an event sponsor.
Registration for both formats opens April 8, 2026. In-person registration closes August 26, 2026, while virtual registration remains open through September 26, 2026. The registration fee for both the in-person and virtual options is $35.00. Free race t-shirts are provided for in-person registrations completed before midnight on September 1.
