5K For the Children

The 5K For the Children is a community running event on September 26, 2026, held at Pleasant Street Beach in West Harwich, Massachusetts. The event uses a new scenic race route with views of Nantucket Sound and offers both an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K option.

Proceeds benefit Shriners Children's and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The organizing body, 5K Walk-Run For the Children Inc, is a 501(c)(3) organization.

Registration for the in-person 5K opens April 8, 2026 and closes August 26, 2026. Virtual registration opens April 8, 2026 and closes September 26, 2026. The registration fee is $35 for each option.

Registered in-person participants who register prior to midnight on September 1 receive a free race t-shirt. Registered runners and walkers may receive up to two free beers at the Pleasant Street Beach parking lot after the race. An after party and awards ceremony is sponsored by Red River BBQ.
