5K FOR LIFE - Mike Lewis Park, Grand Prairie, TX
The event is the fourth annual 5K For Life held at Mike Lewis Park in Grand Prairie. It is a fundraising run that supports the Pregnancy Resource Center of Grand Prairie, a nonprofit that provides free practical assistance, resources, education, and care for families facing unexpected pregnancies. Volunteer roles include aid station duties such as providing water and keeping the course clean, and course monitor duties such as guiding participants and redirecting traffic to maintain safety. Packet pickup is provided in advance at Just Love Coffee and at the race site on event day. The first 200 registrants receive a party bag and there is a t shirt cutoff date.
Awards are given to male and female overall winners and to the top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups, including 10-19 through 70-79 and older. The event organizer maintains a strict no refund policy for typical weather conditions. In extreme or unsafe weather the event may be altered or cancelled at the race director's discretion; packets, shirts, and medals remain available and a virtual completion option is described.
