Footsteps For Progress 5K Run/Walk
Footsteps For Progress 5K Run/Walk is an annual community run and walk presented in partnership with Queens Centers for Progress. The event offers an in-person color bash 5K and a virtual option. The in-person event takes place at Flushing Meadows Corona Park with parking near the Queens Museum and a walk route toward the Queens Theater.
Amenities include a race tee-shirt and a medal while supplies last, a finish line celebration, snacks and drinks provided by local sponsors, and a free kids fun run. Participants can choose a technicolor experience or a monochrome option.
Awards are presented by age group for top three men and women in these divisions: 19 and under, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, and 60 plus. Additional awards include top wheelchair finisher and top overall male and female.
In-person bib pickup opens on race day; registering three weeks in advance is noted for receiving a personalized race number. Virtual entries receive bibs by shipment within a window around the event. Live online, email, and text results are provided, along with free video and same-day finish line photos.
