Footsteps For Progress 5K Run/Walk 2027
Footsteps For Progress 5K Run/Walk is the annual community run and walk hosted by Queens Centers for Progress. The event is scheduled for April 25, 2027 in Flushing Meadows Corona Park and includes an in-person event and a virtual option.
The event features a color run format described as a 5K in Technicolor with a monochrome option, and a separate free children’s fun run. Participants may receive a race tee shirt and a medal while supplies last. Snacks and drinks are provided by event partners.
In-person bib pickup is available on race day; registrants who register well in advance may get a personalized race number. Virtual entrants receive bibs by mail with a shipping window that ranges from one week before the event to one week after the event. Race results and photos are distributed online, with live online and same-day finish line photos and video.
Awards are given by age group for the top three men and top three women in standard age brackets, plus top wheelchair and top overall men and women. The beneficiary is Queens Centers for Progress, which provides services and supports to children and adults with developmental disabilities to promote independence, community involvement, and quality of life.
