Footsteps For Progress 5K Run/Walk 2027
Footsteps For Progress is presented as an annual community run and walk that benefits Queens Centers for Progress. The event includes a main 5K Run/Walk/Roll presented as a Color Bash with a monochrome option. A free kids fun run and a finish line celebration are part of the event. A virtual participation option is available and virtual participants receive shipped items within a window that ranges from one week before the event to one week after the event.
The event location is Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Parking is noted at the Queens Museum building on Meridian Road with a short walk to the Queens Theater. The event is planned to run rain or shine.
Amenities listed include a race tee shirt and medal while supplies last, snacks and drinks provided by sponsors, and same-day finish line photos with live online results and free video. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in the age groups 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and over, plus top overall male and female and top wheelchair finisher.
Registration is not yet open and is scheduled to open ahead of the event date. In-person bib pickup is offered on race day; personalized race numbers are available for those who register three weeks in advance and a self lookup area is provided for bib information.
