Footprints Forever 5K & 1 Mile Race
The 17th annual Footprints Forever event takes place on October 3, 2026, at River Ranch Town Square in Lafayette, LA. The event benefits Maddie’s Footprints Acadiana, an organization that provides emotional and financial support to families who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or the loss of an infant under one year.

- Virtual 5K option
Registration opens May 11, 2026 and closes September 4, 2026. Registration fees vary by category and include separate pricing for adults, children, and virtual entries. Participants who register by September 24, 2026 are guaranteed a race shirt; virtual runners are not included in the shirt program. Race entries may be switched until September 22, 2026.
Packet pickup is available early on October 2 at City Club River Ranch and on race day. The event lists age-group awards for the top three male and female finishers in standard age divisions and additional awards for fundraising and team categories. Team registration and linked fundraising options are available with a deadline for top fundraising team donations on October 1, 2026.
The event includes a remembrance celebration and family activities, with a separate wristband option for non-running children for games and activities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
