Fools Trail Race
The Fools Trail Race takes place at Camp Manatoc in Peninsula, Ohio. This trail event serves as a practical training ground for participants preparing for longer endurance competitions, such as the Burning River Endurance Runs and Relay. The course features a variety of terrain types including wide-open trails, winding singletrack, and several hills.
Participants can choose from four distinct distance options:
- 10k
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
- 26.2 miles (Marathon)
- 60 miles (8 Hour format)
The event layout includes a fully stocked aid station to support runners throughout their specific distance. Additionally, participants have the option to set up a personal 10x10 square foot area to manage their own specific gear, hydration, and nutritional requirements.
The race environment is designed to allow runners to test different pacing strategies, footwear, and fueling methods in a trail setting. Registration for all event distances opens in mid-December and concludes in late April. All activities are centered at the 1075 Truxell Road location within the camp grounds.
