Folkestone Coastal 10k

The Folkestone Coastal 10k is a flat and fast running event held in Folkestone, Kent. The course takes place entirely on the seafront promenade path, meaning there are no road sections throughout the race. Based at the Coastal Park near the Leas Cliff Lift lower station, the route offers seaside views and is part of the Kent Grand Prix.

The event provides options for different experience levels:

  • 10 km - A chip-timed distance on a promenade path.
  • Elite Wave - A specific wave for runners who meet qualification times of 36 minutes for men and 40 minutes for women.
  • Junior Run - A non-chip-timed race of approximately 600 m for participants aged 15 and under.

Registered participants receive a bespoke medal upon completion, with separate medals provided for junior runners. Trophies and prizes are awarded to leading finishers, including cash prizes for the first male and female runners. For those interested in supporting local causes, a charity entry option is available which includes a donation to The Sports Trust, a non-profit organization focused on sports participation.

The event site is accessible by car via the M20 or A20, with parking available in Folkestone town and along the harbour. For those traveling by rail, Folkestone Central Station is located approximately a 20-minute walk or jog from the event location. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
