Folkestone Coastal 10k
The Folkestone Coastal 10k is an organised road running event on the promenade at Coastal Park, near Leas Cliff Lift lower station, Folkestone, Kent CT20 1PS. The course is an out and back route along the seafront on a promenade path with no roads and is described as flat and suitable for fast times. Route maps and GPX files are available for download.
The event includes an elite wave with published qualification times of 36 minutes for men and 40 minutes for women. A dedicated junior run is held alongside the 10 km race; the junior distance is approximately 600 m, is not chip timed, and is for ages 15 years and under.
Charity entries include an additional £5 donation to the Gurkha Memorial Fund. That fund provides assistance and support to Gurkha veterans and their families and promotes awareness of the Gurkha contribution to British military history.
Finisher items and awards are provided. Included items and prizes listed by the organiser are a bespoke finisher medal, a junior medal, trophies and prizes for leading runners, and a cash prize of £150 for the first male and first female finishers, sponsored by SAGA.
