Folding Mountain Ultra - June 6, 2026
The Folding Mountain Ultra takes place on the edge of Jasper National Park with start and finish at Folding Mountain Landing, home to Folding Mountain Brewing, Jasper East Cabins, and Jasper East Hostel. The event features a mountain-village atmosphere with music, food, and post-race beer.
Distances offered:
- 61 km, 2,430 m elevation gain, technical terrain and short scree section.
- 25 km, 1,086 m elevation gain, steep and technical.
The 61 km course is split into two legs: a 35 km Cap Ridge Loop with a strong early climb, then a 26 km Folding Mountain Trail leaving from base camp. Near the summit racers cross a short scree section before a fast descent back to Folding Mountain Landing. The 61 km can be run solo or as a two-person relay with an exchange at base camp. The 25 km is an out-and-back that begins with a runnable section to an aid station, then a direct climb on the Folding Mountain Trail with a turnaround near the scree and a fast return to the finish.
Registration for 2026 is listed as sold out. Course routes are subject to change; final maps and GPX files will be released in spring 2026. Entries include a race tee, finisher medal, on-course nutrition and hydration, post-race food, beer from Folding Mountain Brewing, and a donation to Hinton Search and Rescue. Mandatory and recommended gear lists are provided for mountain safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
