Flying Colors Charity 5K and Fun Run
The PACU Foundation presents a community event centered on a timed 5K in which participants are doused with safe, food based color powder at points along the course. The event also includes an untimed 1.5 mile fun run/walk and a virtual 5k option.

Registration opens on 2026-02-21. In-person event registration closes on 2026-05-15 and the virtual option closes on 2026-06-13. Fees listed by the organizer are $50.00 for the 5K, $20.00 for the 1.5 mile fun run/walk, and $50.00 for the virtual 5k. For the 1.5 mile fun run/walk, minors 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult throughout the course.
Participants receive an event t-shirt that will appear tie dyed by the end of the run. T-shirts are subject to availability for registrations placed after 2026-05-15. Virtual participants receive an event t-shirt and wristband, which will be sent to the physical address on the registrant's RunSignUp profile. Packets for registrants who register by 2026-06-01 are available for pickup at Piedmont Advantage Credit Union lobby, Winston Salem location, 3530 Advantage Way, Winston Salem, NC 27103. Others may collect packets on the day of the event at the registration table.
The event includes face painting, games, a bubble station, and access to local food trucks. No pets are allowed. The PACU Foundation advances charitable giving to support access to financial literacy, education and training, and disaster and emergency assistance for residents overcoming financial hardship in the Triad and Charlotte communities.
