Flowing Forward 5K: Water for West Virginia
Flowing Forward 5K is a community 5K presented by Engineers Without Borders at West Virginia University and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. The event aims to support stronger and more resilient water systems across West Virginia and to raise funds and supplies for communities experiencing water outages.
The event will take place at Reynolds Hall, 83 Beechurst Ave, Morgantown, WV, on September 20, 2026. Parking is available at Reynolds Parking Lot 7 at the same address.
Proceeds will support Engineers Without Borders at West Virginia University and its work addressing water-related challenges through engineering, education, service, and community partnerships. The 5K also functions as a water drive: the event will collect bottled water and monetary donations to purchase and distribute drinking water to communities with outages or limited access to reliable water.
Ways to participate listed for the event include running or walking the 5K, volunteering on race day for tasks such as setup, check in, course support, water stations, finish line activities, or cleanup, and supporting the event as a sponsor or vendor. The description of activities focuses on community involvement and resource collection to address local water needs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
