Event overview
The Flint Hills 50 and Marathon takes place in Manhattan, Kansas on April 11, 2026. The event offers two distance options and is held on mostly dirt roads in the Flint Hills near Manhattan. Proceeds from the race support local schools.
Distances
- 50 miles - two 25-mile loops
- 26.2 miles - one 1.2-mile loop plus a 25-mile loop
Course and logistics
The marathon is a single 26.2-mile loop with four aid stations along the route. The 50-miler uses two loops, with five aid stations on each loop. The course has over 2000 feet of elevation change per loop. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, April 10 at Manhattan Running Company (1129 Garden Way, Manhattan, KS 66502). Race day packet pick-up will be at the Start/Finish at Green Valley Community Center (3770 Green Valley Rd, Manhattan, KS 66502). Post-race food and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.
Awards and registration
Every finisher receives a belt buckle marked with the specific race. Winners receive a painted rock from the course. Participants who complete the race five times receive a painted rock listing all years completed. Registration closes April 7, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
