Flight 800 Memorial Race
The Flight 800 Memorial Race is held in Montoursville, Pennsylvania, to honor the individuals lost on July 17, 1996. The 2026 event marks the 30th anniversary. Participants gather at Indian Park for a community event that supports the TWA Flight 800 Memorial Garden Perpetual Care Fund.
The event features several participation options:
- 5k Run / Walk: A flat course covering 3.1 miles through the scenery of Indian Park.
- 1.5 Mile Memorial Walk: A walking-only route traveling to the Memorial Gardens on Broad Street.
- Virtual 5k or 1.5 Mile Walk: A remote participation option for those unable to attend in person.
The 1.5 mile walk is designed to begin after the 5k run, allowing those who completed the run to join the walkers on the path toward the Montoursville High School area. The Memorial Gardens serve as the destination for the walking portion of the event.
Online registration typically concludes in late June. While registration is available on the day of the event at Indian Park, these entries do not guarantee a race shirt. For virtual participants, the entry fee includes the cost of shipping the event shirt to their location. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
