Event Details

The Flat Out Duathlon takes place on 29 March. It is part of the Triathlon Ireland Duathlon National Series.

Course Description

The event begins and ends at the Athy Primary Care Centre car park, which also serves as the transition area. The first run is 3 km. It starts in the car park, uses a short section of the R418, and then follows the shared-use path on the new Athy Distributor Road. This course is described as flatter than in previous years, using a wide, smooth path. Marshals are positioned along the route.

The bike segment is an out-and-back course on the N78 road. The route is described as fast and rolling with a couple of longer hills. The hilliest parts are around the turnaround point. The bike course remains the same as the previous year.

Participation and Entry

Entry is managed through the Triathlon Ireland website. Participants must have either a Triathlon Ireland race membership or purchase a one-day membership. Parking is available at Athy GFC's Geraldine Park car park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
