Event Overview
The Flapjack 5/10K is an annual running and walking event held at the Nankin Mills Nature Center in Westland, Michigan. Now in its eighth year, the event features two primary distances:
- 5k Run/Walk
- 10k Run
The 5k course is a timed event that accommodates a variety of participants, including those pushing strollers. Both runners and walkers are permitted to participate. The event serves as a fundraiser for the AAA Pregnancy Resource Center, which provides resources and care to parents facing unexpected pregnancies.
Race Details and Features
The event is held on paved paths and park grounds in Westland. Participants receive a race t-shirt as part of their registration, and awards are presented following the conclusion of the runs. The day features a pancake breakfast available for participants.
Registration is available in advance, though walk-up registration is permitted on the morning of the event. On-site registration requires the use of a mobile phone to scan a QR code for payment via credit card, although cash and checks are also accepted.
