Flamingo Day 5K at Sloan's Lake Park
Flamingo Day 5K is a 5K run/walk held at Sloan's Lake Park in Denver on Sunday, June 6, 2027. The event is staged from the parking lot at W 17th Ave and Utica St and uses the paved bike trails that circle the lake.
Because parts of the course are narrow, runners are started in waves based on estimated finish time. Bicycles, skateboards, and roller skates are not allowed in the race. The park offers views of the Rocky Mountains and the Denver skyline.
Registration fees vary by registration window and range from $30 to $40; ages 17 and under receive a $5 discount. Fees do not include service charges. Registered participants receive a race logo shirt, a finishers medal, access to finish line food, on-course and finish line expo activities, fully stocked aid stations, professional chip timing using a disposable bib tag, and free photo downloads after the event.
Pre-race packet pickup is scheduled for the day before the race at Runners Roost, 1685 S Colorado Blvd. Race day packet pickup is also available at the race site and closes at the start of the last race. The parking lot at W 17th and Utica will be closed on race morning; neighborhood parking is available to the south of the park and participants are asked to obey parking signs.
Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners and to the top three finishers in each age group, with age categories ranging from 9 and under through 80 and over. A virtual race option is available; virtual packets include a shirt, medal, and bib and are shipped free of charge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
