Flagstaff Sky Peaks
Flagstaff Sky Peaks is a three day mountain trail race weekend at Arizona Snowbowl near Flagstaff, AZ, held September 25 to September 27, 2026. The event includes multiple distance options and fixed-time loop events that use the mountain terrain around Arizona Snowbowl.
The venue rises to roughly 11,510 feet. Most races begin with the Agassiz Loop, a multi‑mile climb that reaches near that elevation. The Agassiz Hill Climb is a short uphill event that covers about 1.4 miles and gains roughly 2,047 feet, finishing near the gondola helipad; runners may descend by gondola after the climb. Aid stations are available at summit and along course sections, and more substantial food is provided near the start area.
Race formats over the weekend include distances from short mountain loops to ultramarathon routes and fixed-time events that repeat the Agassiz Loop for either six or twelve hours. One Sunday event is a point to point 20K that starts near Fort Valley Trailhead and climbs before descending to the finish at Agassiz Lodge; shuttles are used to move runners to that start. Trekking poles are allowed for all distances. Pacers are permitted on many events, and organizers provide course marking and aid station support. Drop bag and crew rules are specified by the organizer and some logistics vary by race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
