Flagstaff Sky Peaks Weekend
Flagstaff Sky Peaks is a three day mountain running event held at Arizona Snowbowl in Flagstaff, AZ on September 25–27, 2026. The event features a Friday hill climb, a full Saturday slate of races, and two mountain races on Sunday.
The weekend includes these distances:
- Friday: Agassiz Hill Climb
- Saturday: 50 mile, 50 km, 26 km, 11 km, 5 km, 12 hour, 6 hour
- Sunday: Mountain 20 km, Mountain 6 km
The Agassiz Hill Climb is a short, steep ascent of about 1.4 miles with roughly 2,000 feet of gain and finishes near the gondola and helipad; runners descend on the gondola after the climb. Most Saturday races (except the 5K) begin with a multi-mile Agassiz loop that reaches about 11,500 feet before continuing on their respective courses. The 5K runs through an aspen loop on the Snowbowl property. The new 6 and 12 hour fixed-time events repeat the Agassiz loop, accumulating roughly 2,000 feet per lap.
The Mountain 20K is a point to point that starts lower on the mountain, climbs to about 11,500 feet, then descends the ski slopes to finish at Agassiz Lodge. Poles are allowed for all distances. Pacers are permitted on longer races and may use aid stations; muling is not allowed. Lodging and dispersed camping options are available near Arizona Snowbowl.
