4th of July Flagstaff Downtown Mile

The Flagstaff Downtown Mile takes place on July 4th along the annual parade route in downtown Flagstaff, Arizona. Participants run through city streets including San Francisco, Cherry, Beaver, and Aspen. The event is organized by Team Run Flagstaff and serves as a precursor to the holiday parade festivities.

The race primarily utilizes a two-loop course for the mile distance. The circuit heads north on San Francisco Street, moves west on Cherry Avenue, turns south on Beaver Street, and then west on Aspen Avenue to complete each loop.

Available distances and categories include:

  • 1 Mile: Categories for Elite, Citizens (all ages), and Masters (age 40 and over).
  • 0.5 Miles: A single-loop race specifically for children.

The Elite Men's and Women's categories involve competition for a cash purse. For other categories, awards are provided to the top finishers in overall and specific age group standings. Participants in the kid's race receive a treat upon crossing the finish line. All mile events require a registration fee of $35.00, while the children's race is $10.00.
