First Dam Scary Run
The First Dam Scary Run is a road race in Logan, Utah on October 31, 2026, with both 5K and 10K options. The start and finish area is at Merlin Olsen Park, 280 E. Center Street, Logan.
- 5K single loop starting and finishing at Merlin Olsen Park.
- 10K follows the same loop with an additional out and back to First Dam to reach full distance; the 10K starts a bit north on 300 East and finishes at the usual finish line.
The 2026 course uses an alternate route because of construction on Canyon Road; the alternate course was developed with Logan City and River Heights. The 10K shares the 5K route for the first mile, then continues toward First Dam and returns to rejoin the 5K course for the finish.
Facilities and race operations include port-a-potties and pavilion restrooms at the start and finish, no bathrooms on the course, one aid station on the 10K out and back, and a finish line aid station. Chip timing and results are provided by Brooksee. Awards include plaques for the top three male and female finishers, age-group awards across multiple divisions including wheelchair, and a prize raffle at the awards ceremony for registered finishers who are present. Dogs are not allowed on the course or in the park. Strollers are allowed but must start at the back.
