Firetower 5K
The Firetower 5K takes place on August 22, 2026 at Oak Mountain in Speculator, NY. It is part of an Adventure Weekend at Oak Mountain and includes additional community activities that weekend.

The 5K course begins in the base area of Oak Mountain, turns right onto Elm Lake Road, then left onto the sidewalk through downtown Speculator. Runners pass the Firetower, return along the sidewalk, and follow Elm Lake Road back to the base area. The route passes through Adirondack scenery and runs partly on roadside sidewalk and local roads.
Age categories are specified for the Kids Fun Run and for the 5K. The Kids Fun Run has separate female and male divisions for ages 9 and under. The 5K includes youth categories for 14 and under and adult male and female age groups 15–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, and 50 plus.
All proceeds benefit Youth Winter Activities for Hamilton County to support local children’s skiing, snowboarding, and outdoor recreation. Registration is listed as a $25 donation.
