Wakely Dam Ultra - July 18, 2026
The Wakely Dam Ultra is a 55K ultra marathon along a remote section of the Northville Placid Trail in the Adirondack Park, running between Piseco Lake and the Wakely Dam. The course is a technical trail with about 3300 feet of total elevation gain. The route has no crossroads; once at the dam there are two exit options: emerge at the Piseco Airport or return the way one came. Runners must provide their own aid as the race is self supported. Sweeps will collect trash on the course.
Registration carries a fee of $115 and includes a race shirt, pre race pasta and a post race meal and gathering for runners and their guests. The registration process requires validation of recent performance. Acceptable validation includes a road marathon, a 50k trail race, a 50 mile finish, or a prior Wakely Dam Ultra finish within the time windows stated during registration. Registrants must supply the validating race name, year, and a public link to their results. Credit card details are required at registration but payment is not collected until validation is complete.
Athlete check in and packet pickup are scheduled at the Piseco Airport the day before the race; packets will be held at the start line for those not present. First time participants must attend the race briefing. There is no overnight camping or overnight parking at the Piseco Airport. Camping at the dam is allowed only at designated sites and is limited to two tents per site. There are primitive sites and nearby campgrounds and lodging options within a few miles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
