Firecracker 4 Road Race
The Firecracker 4 is a community road race held on July 4, 2026, in downtown Saratoga Springs, New York. The event is based at the Saratoga Springs City Center, 522 Broadway, and it supports more than 2,500 runners and walkers. Now in its 20th year, the race draws participants from across the country and abroad.
Two organized events take place on the morning of July 4:
- 0.2 miles Sparkler Run for younger children on Maple Avenue, behind the City Center.
- 4 miles Firecracker 4, starting on Broadway in front of the City Center and finishing on Maple Avenue behind the City Center.
The four-mile course travels south several blocks, passes many historic buildings and Congress Park, then continues into the city’s East Side neighborhood. Course features include numerous local bands, spectators, and neighborhood sprinklers positioned for runners. The finish area provides post-race snacks, music, and a community celebration atmosphere.
Proceeds benefit trail development, recreation programs, and other healthy lifestyle programs selected by FC4, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit organization. The event offers elite-racer amenities including designated warmup and gear storage, prize money for Open and Masters divisions, USATF team awards, and a course record bonus.
