Event Overview

The Firecracker Fast 5K is held on July 4, 2026, in Little Rock, Arkansas. It starts at 6150 Kavanaugh Boulevard and finishes on the East side of War Memorial Stadium. This event marks 50 consecutive years as a local tradition.

Course

The race is a point-to-point 5K route. The course winds down Kavanaugh Boulevard, passes the Little Rock Zoo, and ends near War Memorial Stadium. Runner’s World has described it as "one of the fastest in the USA."

Awards

Firecracker trophies are awarded to the first 50 male and female finishers. Overall male and female winners receive a free pair of Hoka shoes, as do masters winners. Age group awards are given to the top three males and females in each category, with Fleet Feet Little Rock gift certificates. All children aged 12 and under who complete the race receive medals. Pre-registered participants are guaranteed a commemorative race shirt.

Registration and Logistics

The registration fee for the 5K is $34.09. There are no refunds, and the event may be canceled due to unfavorable conditions. Shuttles are available to transport participants back to the starting line after the race, but not before. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
