Firecracker 5k/1-Mile Fun Run : Kenosha, June 28, 2026
The event on June 28, 2026 in Library Park, 711 59th Place, Kenosha, WI, includes two in-person running events:
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- 5k
The 5k is on a closed, USATF certified course that runs along Kenosha’s lake front harbor and historic district and includes three water stations. Only the 5k is chip timed; the timing chip is attached to the race bib and bibs must be worn front and center. Results will be posted live online and individual results will be available after the race. Timing and scoring are provided by J3 Timing.
Pre-registration is online only with tiered entry fees; a last-chance in-person registration is available at the Kenosha YMCA on the day before the race. Race entry fees are non-refundable. Packet pick-up is available at the Kenosha YMCA the day before the race or at Library Park on race day. T-shirts and participant medals are available to the first 600 entrants; size preferences are assigned by registration order and cannot be guaranteed.
Parking is available in public lots and on-street; participants must follow posted signs. Awards apply to the 5k only; trophies are awarded to overall male and female winners and age-group medals are awarded per published categories. General event rules include accompaniment requirements for children, restrictions on bicycles and pets, and a weather-safety policy under which the YMCA may cancel or modify the event.
