Firecracker 5k/1-Mile Fun Run
The event is a road running program held on June 27, 2027 at Library Park, 711 59th Place, Kenosha, WI. It offers two distances:
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
The 5K uses a closed USATF certified course that runs along Kenosha’s lake front harbor and historic district. There are three water stations on the course. Only the 5K is chip timed, and the chip is located on the bib; bibs must be worn front and center for accurate timing.
Registration is handled mainly through online pre-registration with tiered fees during the months before the race. A limited in-person last chance registration is available at the local YMCA the day before the event. Race entry fees are non-refundable. T-shirts and participant medals are provided to the first 600 entrants, with size preferences assigned by registration order.
Packet pick-up is available at the Kenosha YMCA and on race morning at Library Park. Awards apply to the 5K only; trophies are given to the male and female overall winners and medals are awarded by age groups and top finishers as specified. Finisher medals are available at the finish line and awards must be picked up by the stated deadline.
