Firecracker 5k/1-Mile Fun Run - Kenosha
This event takes place on June 28, 2026 at Library Park, 711 59th Place, Kenosha, WI. It includes two timed running events and uses a closed, USATF certified course that follows Kenosha’s lakefront harbor and historic district. There are three water stations placed on the course.

- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, 1 mile
- 5K, 3.1 miles
Only the 5K is chip timed. The timing chip is on the bib and bibs must be worn front and center for accurate results. Live results will be posted online the day of the race and individual results will be available afterward. Overall results are printed in the Kenosha News.
Registration is online with tiered pricing for all participants regardless of age. Price tiers apply by registration date and there is no registration on June 26. A limited in person "Last Chance" registration is available at the Kenosha YMCA on Saturday, June 27 for a stated fee. Race entry fees are non refundable.
Packet pick up is available on Saturday, June 27 at the Kenosha YMCA (7101 53rd St.) or on Sunday, June 28 in Library Park (711 59th Pl.). T shirts and participant medals are provided to the first 600 entrants; sizes cannot be guaranteed and size preferences are assigned in registration order.
Awards apply to the 5K only. Trophies go to the male and female overall winners. Award medals are given to top three male and female finishers in kids and 5 year age groups through 80 plus. Finisher medals are distributed at the finish line. Awards will not be mailed and must be picked up by the stated deadline.
General race guidelines require bibs to be worn on the front, runners age 10 and under to be accompanied by a registered Running Buddy, and no bicycles or skate devices on course. Baby strollers are allowed but must stay behind runners; dogs are not permitted. Headsets and earbuds are discouraged. The Kenosha YMCA may cancel or modify the event for safety reasons due to severe weather or other conditions; cancellation does not result in a refund but a donation acknowledgment may be provided.
