Firecracker 5K, Columbus
The Firecracker 5K is organized by the Columbus Running Club and is held at 4225 Vickers Drive in Columbus, IN. The event raises funds for high school scholarships for Bartholomew County students.
The course is primarily on a paved trail and follows an out and back layout with one controlled road crossing. The event offers race day registration and packet pick-up at the start/finish through RunSignUp. The listed registration fee is $30.00.
Awards include overall male and female gift certificates to White River Running Co. Age group awards are given in 10-year age groups for both male and female competitors and also consist of gift certificates to White River Running Co.
Refreshments are provided at the finish and include fruit, water, sports drink, and snacks. Water and sports drink are also available near the turnaround. Parking is available in the lot at the corner of Vickers Drive and Poshard Drive, along Poshard Drive west of Vickers Drive, and in the parking lot by the soccer stadium west of the start with access from Poshard Drive.
