Firecracker 5K Run/Walk

The Firecracker 5K is an annual running and walking event held within the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. The route passes through the university grounds, characterized by palm tree lined paths, and marks the start of the city's Independence Day festivities.

Participants compete on a measured 5 km course equipped with AccuChip Timing. The event is limited to the first 1,000 registered participants. Performance awards are presented three deep to male and female finishers in five-year age groups, ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over.

Registration includes a race t-shirt and a finisher medal, though t-shirt sizes are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Race packets are available for collection in the days leading up to the event at a local sports shop or onsite on the morning of the race.
