Firecracker 5K Run/walk City of Boca Raton
The event is a measured 5K held on the Florida Atlantic University campus, starting from the 20th Street entrance by the administration buildings on the east side of campus. AccuChip timing is used on the measured course. Registration is limited to the first 1,000 runners and the registration fee is $40.00. Finisher medals are guaranteed to the first 1,000 registrants.
Awards are presented three deep in five year age groups from 10 and under through 70 plus, separated by male and female divisions. Packet pickup is available at Runner's Edge, 3195 N. Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, from June 28 until July 3 during store hours: Monday to Friday 10:00 to 18:00, Saturday 10:00 to 17:00 and Sunday 11:00 to 16:00. T shirt sizes are allocated on a first come basis and early pickup is suggested.
Proceeds from the event are donated to the Boca Raton Police Athletic League, the Boca Raton Police Foundation and Mission United, part of United Way of Palm Beach County. Sponsors include the City of Boca Raton, Florida Atlantic University Alumni, Runner's Edge and the beneficiary organizations listed above.
