Firecracker 5K and 1 Mile Sparkler Run - Annandale
The Firecracker 5K and 1 Mile Sparkler Run are community running events held in Annandale as part of the town's Fourth of July celebration. Both courses begin and end near Annandale Municipal Park, and street parking is available nearby. The event functions as a fundraiser supporting the St John’s Lutheran Church Children, Youth, and Family Fund and other local groups that support the event.
Two distances are offered:
- 1 Mile Sparkler Run
- 5K Firecracker 5K
Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each distance, with cash awards for first through third place and additional awards such as event picture frames. Additional awards include fastest stroller mile, fastest combined 5K plus 1 Mile time, and best Fourth of July themed attire. Age group certificates will be awarded across youth and adult brackets: the 1 Mile lists groups from 4 and under through 80 and over, and the 5K lists groups from 12 and under through 80 and over.
Packet pick-up is available onsite at 315 Oak Ave N and on race day. Race shirts are not included with registration and were available for purchase until June 22, 2025.
