26th ANNUAL FIRECRACKER 5000 presented by Fleet Feet
The event takes place on July 4, 2026, at Branson Landing on Lake Taneycomo. Runners start and finish at the middle fountains on Branson Landing and follow the lakeside for the 5K loop. The Mile Fun Run is held on the Landing as an out and back.
Distances available:
- 1 mile Mile Fun Run, out and back on Branson Landing
- 5K one-loop course along Lake Taneycomo, start and finish at the middle fountains
- Virtual 5K and 10K out of town virtual option with separate awards
Team rules apply to the 5K only. Teams require at least five paid 5K runners. A team captain pays a $40 team fee and provides a team name and password; paid runners can join an existing team. Race-day signups receive a bib and can be added to a team by the captain using a form with team name and bib numbers. A team trophy and fireworks are awarded.
Awards and finishes: overall 5K winners receive a large fireworks award and a $125 Fleet Feet gift card for male and female. Masters 40 plus first place receives large fireworks. Age-division champions receive trophies and fireworks across listed age groups. Mile Fun Run awards include first-place fireworks for 12 and under and finisher medals for all runners. Finisher medals are provided for the first 800 runners. Highland Dairy Ice Cream will distribute ice cream at the finish line. Giveaways include gift cards and over $500 in prizes.
Packet pickup locations occur July 2 at Fleet Feet in Springfield and July 3 at Oscar's Famous Ribs in Branson; July 3 pickups include a $5 voucher for Oscar's BBQ for the first 50 runners. Race morning packet pickup is available at Branson Landing. Virtual participants have until July 12 to submit results; times will be posted and shirts and awards mailed July 13.
