26th Annual Firecracker 5000
The Firecracker 5000 is an annual running event held in Branson on Independence Day. The courses are set along Lake Taneycomo, with the starting and finishing lines located at the middle fountains on Branson Landing. Participants in the 5k event complete a single loop, while those in the mile distance follow an out-and-back route on the Landing.
The event offers several participation options:
- 5k
- 1 mile fun run
- Virtual 5k
- Virtual 10k
The virtual options are designed for those participating from out of town, with results to be submitted online by July 12. For the in-person 5k, participants have the option to form teams of at least five runners. These teams can be all-female, all-male, or mixed gender.
All finishers across the various distances receive a commemorative medal. The event includes age division awards for both male and female runners ranging from 10 and under to 80 and up, as well as masters categories. At the finish line, refreshments including ice cream cones and bars are provided to participants. Packet pickup is available on the two days preceding the race at locations in Springfield and Branson, as well as on the morning of the event.
