Altru Family YMCA Firecracker Run
The Altru Family YMCA Firecracker events take place in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on the morning of July 4th. This annual event provides participants with a way to observe Independence Day through physical activity. The proceeds from the race are directed toward the YMCA Partner of Youth Financial Scholarship program, which supports local youth initiatives.
The event offers several distances and formats to accommodate different types of participants:
- 10K running race
- 5K run or walk
- Kiddie Run including a short grass course or distances of 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile
The 10K and 5K routes are open to a range of participants, including competitive runners and walkers. For younger participants, the Kiddie Run features options based on age, with some routes utilizing a portion of the official race course and others remaining on the grass.
Packet pickup and on-site registration are available the day before the event at the See Dick Run location. Limited pickup options are also provided on the morning of the race at the same venue.
