Fire on the Mountain 50K Trail Race : Little Orleans, MD
Fire on the Mountain is a trail running event held in Green Ridge State Forest near Little Orleans, Maryland on November 1, 2026. The event offers two distances:
- 50K - about 31.95 miles, out-and-back with seven aid stations.
- 25K - about 16.3 miles, three aid stations.
The 50K requires runners to complete the assigned course within 10 hours to be an official finisher. The 25K has an official cutoff of 4 hours 30 minutes. All finishers who complete their event inside the official cutoff receive a finisher's premium.
The 25K course includes approximately 6.5 miles of trail that can be technical, with roots, rocks and narrow sections near the creek, plus about 9.6 miles of forest service road and improved dirt roads. The 50K is an out-and-back that uses aid stations multiple times, including an oasis at the midway point.
One training run is scheduled for the fall of 2026; participants will meet at the race finish area on Sunday, September 27. Volunteers are needed to staff four aid stations that support the seven total aid station stops. The event does not offer refunds or transfers, with limited exceptions for military or pregnancy.
