Fire on the Mountain 50K Trail Race
This event takes place in Little Orleans, MD on November 1, 2026. It offers two distance options and organized support on the course.
Distances
- 50K - about 31.95 miles, out-and-back course, seven aid stations (three are visited twice)
- 25K - about 16.3 miles, three aid stations (one is visited twice)
The 50K has an official cutoff of 10 hours 0 seconds. The 25K has an official cutoff of 4 hours 45 minutes. All finishers who complete their event within the official cutoff time will receive a finisher’s premium.
Course details for the 25K include approximately 6.5 miles of trail that can be technical with ups and downs, roots, rocks and narrow "billy goat" sections near a creek, plus about 9.6 miles of forest service road and improved dirt roads.
The organizer schedules training runs in September and holds at least one fall training run on the red trail covering about 7 to 15 miles; the training runs are staged to familiarize runners with portions of the race course.
No refunds and no deferments are permitted except for specified exceptions such as military or pregnancy. The event seeks volunteers to staff aid stations. The race is part of a Distinguished Participant program for 2026 that recognizes runners who complete a combination of 2Lowe Run Co events.
