Fire on the Mountain 50K and 25K
Fire on the Mountain is a trail ultramarathon held in Green Ridge State Forest on November 1, 2026. The event uses mainly the red and green trails and follows an out and back format with a midpoint oasis. The full course is approximately 32.8 miles with an unofficial GPS estimate of about 5,387 feet total elevation gain and loss.

The 50K has seven aid stations, with three stations visited twice plus the midpoint oasis. The 25K has three aid stations, one of which is visited twice. The 25K course includes about 6.5 miles of sometimes-technical singletrack with roots, rocks, and narrow "billy goat" sections, plus roughly 9.6 miles of forest service and improved road. Drop bags are placed into a designated vehicle and will be available at Aid Station 4 (mile 16.4); runners are advised not to put car keys in drop bags and should expect that bags might not arrive at the finish. Registered finishers who complete their distance within the event cutoff durations receive a finisher premium and an event T-shirt. Shirts are distributed at packet pickup and are not mailed. Refunds, transfers, and deferments are not offered except for certain military exceptions.
The event occurs during archery season in the forest; organizers recommend wearing bright, highly visible colors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
