Buzz Sawyer Western Maryland Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K
The event is the 11th edition held in 2026 on the Western Maryland Rail Trail in Hancock, Maryland. The start and finish are located just north of C&O Bicycle at 9 S Pennsylvania Ave, Hancock, MD 21750. The race takes place entirely on the rail trail and is organized by 2Lowe Run Company.
Distances offered:
- Marathon: 26.2 miles, two out and back loops of 6.56 miles.
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles, one out and back loop of 6.56 miles.
- 10K: 6.2 miles, out and back of 3.11 miles each way.
The marathon and half marathon courses are USATF certified (MD17006NP and MD17005NP) and may be used to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Aid stations for the marathon and half are located at the start/finish line and at miles 2, 3.5, 5, and 6.56, with the same stations available on the return legs.
