About the race
Fine Valentine Run and Relay is a multi-event running and walking event held at Gentle Ben's and the University of Arizona campus in Tucson, Arizona. The event offers several course options that use the campus mall and include a route that climbs the Arizona Football Stadium ramps.
Distances and options include:
- 5K two-person relay, each person runs 1.55 miles
- 5K solo race, two laps of the course
- 1.5 miles walk or run, one lap, not timed
- 1 mile FitKidz event for children 12 and under
The event includes rider assisted categories and a FitKidz mile that is free for eligible children; the FitKidz breakfast is not included. Registration fees are listed per event and per person; some events offer a reduced fee for Southern Arizona Roadrunners (SAR) members that covers RunSignup fees.
Post-race activities at Gentle Ben's include a hot breakfast for registered participants, beverage specials with the first mimosa or Bloody Mary offered free to SAR members, and an awards gathering. Planned contests and recognitions include costume and public display of affection contests judged by Ben's Bells, and the 2027 Kind Cupid Award to recognize people noted for kindness.
