Field N Dale 6K & 12K Trail Run
The Field N Dale event takes place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in Bakersfield, CA at 901 E Roberts Ln, 93308. The event includes two distances:
- 6K Trail Run/Walk
- 12K Trail Run
The race is chip timed and offers a custom event t-shirt and a finisher's medal. Top three age group finishers receive hand-made awards. There are post-race raffles and a free pancakes breakfast provided by the Boy Scouts of America.
Course and venue
The 6K course is described as flat and fast, mostly compacted dirt with some asphalt, and runs along both sides of the Kern River. The 12K course includes climbs on the bluffs and sections of single-track trail. The event is routed through the Panorama Vista Preserve.
The Panorama Vista Preserve spans both sides of the Kern River and is being re-vegetated. It is bordered by Oildale to the west, Gordon's Ferry to the east, the Beardsley Canal and oil fields to the north, and the Panorama Bluffs to the south. The preserve is private land held in trust for the public by the Kern River Corridor Endowment and Holding Co., a nonprofit organization. It is open to the public for gentle use.
