About the race
The Fen 10 is a certified, open road race over 10 mile on generally flat Fenland roads around West Walton and Wisbech. The course was revised in 2023 to reduce right hand turns and the start and finish are in the same location on a recreation field. The event holds an England Athletics race licence (#31543).
Entry is limited to 300 runners and there are no entries on the day. Entry fees are listed as £26 for affiliated runners and £28 for unaffiliated runners. Entries are managed through the organiser's timing provider.
On the route there are two water stations, roughly after three miles and around six and a half miles, with compostable paper cups provided. Chip timing with live results is used and every finisher receives a memento. The race features marshal support, a controlled baggage store, a refreshments stall, and eight portaloo units. There are no changing facilities or showers.
Race rules and safety information include a three hour cutoff, a requirement to wear the race bib with medical details completed on the reverse, and a prohibition on in-ear or over-ear headphones; bone conducting devices are permitted. Littering can lead to disqualification and marshals will direct runners where to run for safety. The organiser may publish entrants' result details and is subject to UK Anti-Doping and related rules. A prize of £50 is offered for a new course record for each sex. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
