Events
The event offers two formats.
- Fellows Frolic 3 Hour: A 3-hour timed event where participants run as many loops as they can.
- Fellows Frolic $1,000 Challenge: A challenge where the first man and first woman to complete 7 laps within a specific time each win $1,000. Men have 3 hours; women have 3 hours and 27 minutes.
Course and Format
The race is run on the Fellows Hill Loop Trail in Tully, New York. The course is a loop of approximately 3.3 miles with 607 feet of elevation gain per lap. The direction participants run each loop is determined by their bib number and a coin toss. After finishing a loop, participants start the next loop in the opposite direction. The route is marked primarily with orange blazes, with some blue blazes of the North Country Trail near Spruce Pond.
Logistics and Rules
The start and finish area is at Spruce Pond. Parking at the campsite is limited to about 8 cars, with overflow parking available about a mile away on Shackham Road. Bib pickup is available on race day only, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The use of headphones is not permitted.
Amenities and Awards
An aid station provides water, Gatorade, and snacks. Basic bathroom facilities are available, but participants are advised that the woods are the primary option. Timing is done by hand, with results posted the same night. All participants receive a mug or a drawstring bag. The 3-Hour race awards ribbons to the top three men and women. Registration costs $45 until August 1, 2026, and $55 thereafter. The event has a no-refund, no-transfer, and no-deferral policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
